CS SD NAND in Smart Wearable Devices
In recent years, the wearable products industry has quietly yet rapidly developed. For example, the Apple Watch has seen a sharp increase in sales every year. In China, products like the Little Genius phone watch have also experienced significant sales growth.
With the growing applications of these wearable watches, CS SD NAND has found its place. Recently, a customer working on wearable watches contacted us, seeking large-capacity storage. They were unsure of how to proceed.
After some discussion, it became clear that previously, the functions of wearable watches were relatively simple, and built-in NOR Flash was sufficient to store some code. However, now, some customers have specific requirements, such as storing UI images, reminder music, and even maps. In such cases, larger storage capacity is needed.
Moreover, since the PCB size of wearable products is very small, customers prefer storage chips with small footprints that are easy to solder, ideally avoiding BGA packaging.
This is where CS SD NAND became the perfect choice.
SD NAND offers capacities ranging from 128MB to 512MB, with plans to introduce 4GB in the future, providing customers with flexibility in selecting the right storage size.
The packaging is WSON-8, with only eight pins, making it easy to solder.
The size is 6x8mm, very compact. It uses built-in SLC NAND wafers, which offer long lifespan and high stability.
I believe it's clear why the customer chose us. CS SD NAND is a solution that deserves recognition.
