CS SD NAND in Hunting Camera Storage Applications

In simple terms, this type of product is mounted on a tree in the wild, with an internal infrared sensor. When no prey is detected, it remains in a powered-off state. When prey appears, it immediately wakes up and takes a picture at high speed.
Why does such a product use SD NAND?
Fast Startup Speed: The product requires extremely fast startup. When prey appears, the camera must power on and take a picture immediately. At this point, the operating system may not even be fully booted. Therefore, a storage chip is needed to cache the captured image.
Fast Write Speed: The camera requires high-speed write capabilities, which ordinary NOR Flash and NAND Flash cannot meet. SD NAND is capable of handling this fast write requirement.
Protocol Stack: In the past, hunting cameras stored images locally, requiring regular retrieval of the captured photos. However, hunting cameras are often placed in remote areas, making it very labor-intensive.
Now that hunting cameras are equipped with 4G modules, local storage is also needed for communication protocol stacks, which increases the demand for storage space.
Based on the issues mentioned above, SD NAND fully meets the storage needs of hunting cameras, and its application in hunting cameras will continue to increase.
